Required Equipment
- Blind filter (backflush disc)
- Group head cleaning brush
- Measuring spoon
Backflush Cleaning Method
- Brush group seal and surrounding areas to remove loose buildup
- Place one teaspoon of powder in blind filter and insert into group head
- Run brew cycle for 15-30 seconds
- Wait 2-3 minutes for product to break down coffee oils
- Run 5 cycles of 5 seconds on, 5 seconds off (keep blind filter inserted)
- Remove portafilter and rinse with cold water
- Run another 5 cycles of 5 seconds on, 5 seconds off without blind filter
- Verify water runs clear before resuming service
